The odd thing is, the "treatment" doesn't change much. The transaction between speaker and recipients remains on point.

Have you seen the latest from the G8 or whatsit, swaggering fratboy with a face full of food talking nuanced policy and strategery with chief fratboy Blair? It's a mere party distraction, for him, all this murder. The world being run by teenagers.

God help us, what an embarrassment. And such a wonder he's gotten this far, without incinerating us all.

Apparently he was given a transcript that included his unintentionally overheard "shit," and made a face. Is it possible that, confronted with his own BeingShatintotheWorld, he found something not to like?

...in flickering, facial ticks, at least. As for the depths of potentially-felt shame... (why, the royalty shall only ever swear in private (or in reference to the inferior company of foreigners, or directly to Vermont Senators); it "denigrates" "proceedings.")

In all fairness tho who wouldn't wish to curse in Blair's annoying smarter-than-you-(but powerless)-kid, insinuating Catholic, mother-doting presence

That he dispatched the word "irony" in merely trying to sound smart is yet far more grave. Are we so sure he wasn't wincing at that?

The CEO class can be self-conscious, without being in any way self-aware. Irony requires a sense of self, beyond being functional as a shaped weapon of desire. Ridicule bothers them, if you can make it sting, though most people in that class gradually develop a thick hide.

There's some blockage, definitely - if indeed that was the word he used - a Dutch transcript doesn't contain the word maybe because it didn't compute by any code known to man. Could be Bush seizing a sound. Or, a Texas Alzheimeritic slur: "the ire in me." Or he winced as he has been known to do because the rabble was disrupting his autism.
